Added 2 new Skype blogs to my blogroll!

I have recently added 2 new Skype blogs to my blogroll!
The first is Skype Numerology which keeps us posted about the development of Skype. – Interesting in my eyes is the fact that he seems to report about every little detail he found new in Skype. (That’s the same way how I do it when reporting about ICQ).

Sure a blog to check out!

The 2nd one is Skype Lifestyle which writes about how much Skype changed the life of Ike Roelfsema who even runs a business which is based on Skype. (Skype Journal interviewed her, Skype wrote a blog entry).

Blogspot service

Despite the fact that other blog software has more features than Blogger, I decided to keep using it. Infact alot of those features can be added by 3rd party services. At this place you can read suggestions on how to “beef up” Blogger to the same level like their competitors.

And one big plus of Blogger is its very good email support. They always replied to me and always have been very helpful.

Maybe the new Blogger Beta will bring some of the suggested features under our fingertips! πŸ™‚

I took a dump…on BlogDumps!

Nowadays, one after another good blogs related exchanges seem die like dropping flies.

Rarely a new likewise service opens its doors. But somtimes, the exception proves the rule, and one of such exceptions is the BlogDump Exchange.

Blog related services have one problem by nature: Either its admin is too busy and cannot handle all requests and incoming emails or the service is so big that the company’s customer support devision is helpless overthrown and lack of manpower.

BlogDumps however is administrated by Wolfbernz (email) who seems to have the time to keep the service running in a very good way.

He writes the following about his service:

I had this crazy Idea to create a Blog links site that would be simple to use and help create links to all the different Blogs and have some fun at the same time. I am hoping all who know me From Wrongblog will join in and those who don’t know me. Welcome!

According to his Technorati profile & ranking it seems that he is a pretty known person in the Blogosphere. πŸ™‚

Skype Heartbeat

Actually, I had noticed this site already a bit earlier, but I just decided to post about it now.

So Skype Heartbeat is like a sophisticated versions of the ICQ Network Status indicator.

Even if sll appears to be fine, it’s anyway highly recommended to check it now and then especially since they post about news and changes about the Skype network!

One even very important post is the one about Central Contact List Disabled for older Skype for Windows versions (2.0 and earlier) in which they write that several old Skype for Windows clients got unsupported and why. In order to assure that your Skype keeps working, be sure to always have the latest Skype version installed! πŸ™‚

ICQ Team stops supporting Windows 98 SE!

Finally, after Microsoft already stopped supporting Windows 98 and Windows ME, ICQ decided to stop supporting Windows 98 Second Edition (Windows 98 First Edition was not supported since ICQ 5.0).

However, even if Windows 98 SE got removed from the supported list, ICQ 5.1 still works in Windows 98 SE.
Hoewever future releases of ICQ will not be fixed to run on Windows 98 anymore.

Blog exchanges

I am late I know, but all the blog exchanges I was a member of went down:

1) The Crush Blog Exchange turned into Crushed Exchange:

What was originally The Blog Exchange has now become the Crushed Exchange. Since I had a problem with the previous database I decided to turn this exchange around and allow any kind of site to be a part of it. Whether you have a blog, fansite, forum, anything goes! As long as you are able to include the exchange code somewhere visible on your site, you can join!

Additionally to this, its administrator did not reply to emails since ages. Well, maybe she is mad at me for whatever reason.

2) BlogExchange.net closed down. As written on its administrator’s blog:

What happened to the banner exchange?
Unfortunately – I did not have time to maintain this project. I’m in my final semester (or almost final) of a PhD program, and I maintain two other very time intensive websites that are related to my area of expertise (iateapie.net and foodissues.org). Rather than sell this domain, I decided to keep the button generator section of the website and make it the focus. So welcome to the relaunch.

I want to thank Tanya Patrice for replying and helping me always! πŸ™‚

I will look out for new blog exchanges and add them soon to my sidepanel!

Edit: Unfortunately I found none, so for now only my Blog Snappy Exchange will be on my blog’s sitepanel.

If you run or know a blog exchange service, please contact me!
