Since it’s a famous question: What do I do if Skype Video does not work?

Here the answer:

0) If you generally have a problem with Skype, look first at the skype forums: http://forum.skype.com

1) Forum: There is a list of supported webcams http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=41162.

2) Forum: There is a list of issues and how to resolve the problems:
http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=58958

reasons for failing video: a) old DirectX or b) Nvidia graphics card which is not supported.

So first update install latest DirectX. If it still does not help, you can read there which NVidia graphics cards are known to not work.

The Skype Team has released the 2.6 previews as you know, the 2.6 previews fixes the problem b) with the Nvidia cards since such are now supported, but notice that previews are with bugs:

Notice: Every interactive place on the skype homepage requires to login. You use the same login information as in the Skype client.

Now that Google Analyticsis open for everybody, I have just signed up myself for an account and added my blog.

That means from now on I even getter better analytics or different ones than from my Webstats4u statistics! 🙂

I was today allowed to switch to Blogger in Beta!
(Big thanks to the Blogger Support for allowing me to switch my account to Blogger in Beta!).

A list of all new feautes can be found here. Among the new features is also labeling which means you no longer have to rely on categories hacks or crappy services like Labelr! 🙂

I have done a slideshow with screenshots of the new Blogger in Beta.

The Blogger Team themselves made a tour, also an entry in their Blogger Buzz blog can be read.

Unfortunately classical template editing is not available as of yet, that’s why I was unable to keep my template switched to the new customizedable version!

Anyway, great work, cannot wait till you re-enabled classical template editing so I can completely switch my blog! =)

I just noticed yesterday, that ICQ offers – next to the ICQ Toolbar – also a German ICQ Search!

ICQ Search is based on Google but it shows screenshots of the homepages in its search result (source of the images is Alexa)!

Skype has fineally got a new forum.

What many people – especially those who are not at using Skype since the beginning – don’t know: The Skype Team said in the forum already over 2 years ago that a new forum will come that intergrates seamless into the Skype homepage.

Now finally they have done it!

One big disadvantage however is, that they did not migrate the user database, means after login you have to choose your desired display name. If your display name for the forum has already taken by somebobdy else, you have…errr… bad luck! 🙁

Luckily, “Nafcom” wasn’t taken by somebody else, yet! 🙂

The weirdness doesn’t stop, Skype gets intergrated everywhere!

After Skype in Ebay we got now Skype in Dating! 🙂

Not much users as of yet, but who knows, maybe it will grow! 🙂

They even allow logging into a test user account as you can see above. Despite the fact it’s small it looks pretty professional to me! 🙂
